Outfitters Cabin

The Outfitter’s Cabin is the jumping-off point for outdoor adventure at Promontory. Our outfitter Sean Smith is an Olympian and former US Ski Team member. He’s also a long-time Park City resident and veteran outdoorsman, so he knows all the best ways to help nature come alive. Whether it’s hiking, camping, biking, or fishing in the summer or skiing, sledding, or snowshoeing in the winter, for lovers of the great outdoors, Promontory is paradise. Our resident Outfitter orchestrates countless off-property excursions for our members.

Boating and Water Sports

Ready for some time on the water? Promontory is conveniently located near two beautiful reservoirs, Rockport and the Jordanelle, which are perfect for paddle-boarding, canoeing, fishing, and camping. During the summer, our Outfitter can create a water excursion you won’t soon forget on your very own watercraft.

Hiking Trails

Promontory offers more than 40 miles of pristine hiking trails. Hike along paths through the trees during the beauty of daylight or try a moonlit hike under the stars. For the hiking enthusiast, explore Utah’s epic state parks as well as the Uinta Mountains and nearby 11,752-foot Mount Timpanogos. No matter where you start your hike, our Outfitter can help you find the perfect trail that will leave you awestruck.

Nordic Ski Trails

Promontory features miles of groomed Nordic and cross-country ski trails.

Snow Shoeing

During winter months, strap on your snowshoes or borrow a pair from our Outfitter and trek along paths of glimmering white snow. Our Outfitter will find the perfect trail for you and your family or friends to explore this winter wonderland and make new memories in the great outdoors.

Mountain Biking

Whether you want a challenging ride or simply want to enjoy the view, Promontory has a variety of mountain biking trails for all ability levels. The hills surrounding Park City offer over 400 miles of public trails, so it’s no wonder why Park City has been rated among the best mountain biking destinations in the world. No bike? No problem. You can rent a bike at the Outfitter’s Cabin.

Fly-Fishing

Learn how to fly cast at the Outfitter’s Pond, then hit one of the local blue-ribbon rivers and land a trophy trout. The Provo and Weber rivers are the most popular rivers, but there’s an abundance of small streams and honey holes you can find with the help of our Outfitter.

Skiing

Former Olympic skier and Promontory outfitter, Sean Smith can take you on a private ski excursion to any of the area’s surrounding resorts and guide you and your family around the mountain – no matter what your ski skill level and personal preferences are.

The Boat House

As the centerpiece of the Mountain Garden Park, The Boat House is a picture-perfect cabin situated on the shores of the Mountain Garden Pond. From here, it’s easy to admire Promontory’s pristine natural beauty, whether you’re paddling around the pond in a canoe, casting a line into the tranquil waters or taking in the stunning mountain views at sunset. It’s also the ideal spot for unwinding by the water after a fun-filled day, sitting on the dock with a few close friends — and your favorite bottle of wine — or hosting a nautical-themed cocktail party.

Mountain Garden Park

Tucked away as a scenic oasis in the heart of the community, the Mountain Garden Park consists of the Boat House, the Mountain Garden Pond, and the surrounding network of trails that converge on the park and weave their way throughout the community. It’s a place where you can relax and catch a beautiful sunset — or catch up with your family and friends.

Mountain Garden Pond

The Mountain Garden Pond, stocked with trout every summer, is a picture-perfect setting to cast your fishing line or paddle around the pond in a canoe. Beautiful walking trails encircle the pond and venture off in several directions, providing an exciting waypoint for an easy afternoon stroll or more rigorous hike.

Soccer Field

Located just above the Mountain Garden Pond, the soccer field is the perfect place to take to the open field and score a goal, toss a football, fly a kite, or play a game of tag with a few of your favorite friends. This expansive green space is also home to our Kid’s Soccer Camp in the summer.

Luke Ridge Tubing Hill

When the snow begins to fall, the hill adjacent to the Beach Club doubles as the Luke Ridge Tubing Hill. All owners in Promontory, with or without a club membership may enjoy free tubing on the hill and hot chocolate in the clubhouse. It’s a fun and easy way to get outside and enjoy winter.

Ice Skating

In the winter, the tennis courts become an ice-skating rink. Grab a pair of complimentary ice skates and take a spin around the rink.
